Rick Williams Auction Company is made up of...

The owner of the company, Rick Williams, has been in the auction business since 1978.  He began his career learning from the late Charlie Hunter of the Hunter-Chambers Realty and Auction Company.  Charlie guided Rick while he learned the chant and the business.  He taught Rick the importance of respect and honesty.  Charlie lived by the motto, “treat people the way you want to be treated.”  Rick graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1973 then attended the Ohio University-Chillicothe branch and Southern State Community College.  In 1979 he married Connie and they have 2 children, Brad and Lauren, daughter-in-law, Brittany and granddaughters, Brailee and Brynna.  Community involvement is a big part of the Williams family life.  Rick serves on the Festival of the Bells Committee and also is in charge of the entertainment for the event.  He has booked many famous and successful artists, such as Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Chris Cagle, Joe Nichols, Trick Pony, Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton, Darryl Worley, Little Big Town, Taylor Swift, Emerson Drive, Neal McCoy, Julianne Hough, Kip Moore, Justin Moore, The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum, Dustin Lynch and Brett Young.  Rick is also an active member of the Hillsboro Rotary Club, receiving the coveted Paul Harris award in 1999 and serving as President in 2015-16. He also serves on the Board of Directors on the Highland County Chamber of Commerce and has been a co-chair of the Chamber Ag Event. The Hillsboro FFA recognized Rick and Connie for their involvement in the annual Consignment Auction by naming them as Honorary Chapter Farmers in 1999. In 2014 they received the Ohio FFA Association Honorary State Degree. This consignment auction has aided many FFA members in their college endeavors as well as assisting with students with projects, conventions, and leadership sessions.

Brad Williams is the son of Rick and Connie. He began his auctioneer career as soon as he learned to count.  Many hours were spent with his toy tractors lined up in front of the fireplace, selling tractors to anyone present.  In 2001 Brad graduated from Hillsboro High School, and in 2002 graduated from Repperts School of Auctioneering.  During high school he was an active member of the FFA Chapter, serving on many committees and as treasurer his senior year.  As a member of the Chapter he received his Chapter, State, and American FFA degrees.  In 2005 he received the Honorary Chapter Farmer degree from the Hillsboro FFA for his support of the Chapter and his efforts with the annual FFA Alumni Consignment Auction, which he started during his freshman year in high school.  After high school Brad attended Southern State Community College and OSU-ATI in Wooster, earning an Associate’s Degree in 2005.  Brad volunteers at the Highland County Fair serving as a Senior Superintendent in the Swine Barn and is the president of the Sales Committee.  He is also on the Board of Directors of the Highland County Cattlemen Association.  In 2011 Brad married the former Brittany Grooms and they currently reside on the family farm in Leesburg with their daughters, Brailee and Brynna.  Brad currently operates Williams Farms Seed and Chemical LLC.

Chip Yochum joined the company in 1999.  His auction career began after graduating from Missouri Auction School.  He is the son of Fred (also our clerk) and Barb Yochum, growing up in the Mowrystown area.  He graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1996 and attended The Ohio State University.  His high school years were kept busy with FFA activities and showing cattle.  As a member of the FFA, Chip received his Chapter, State and American degrees.  Chip has also received the Honorary Chapter Farmer degree from the Hillsboro FFA.  Chip and his wife Shannon are the proud parents of a daughter, Emma, and son, Connor.  They keep busy raising and showing cattle.  Chip is also on the Board of Directors for the Highland County Cattlemen Association. He also works at car auctions in Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, and Kentucky.

Fred Yochum is the clerk of the operation.  He joined the company in 2002.  Fred retired from teaching math at Hillsboro High School.  He is a graduate of Whiteoak High School, Ohio University, and Miami University.  Fred and wife, Barb, are the proud parents of three children, Marcy, Chip, and Abby; and grandparents of six grandchildren.  In 1996 Fred and Barb were chosen as Honorary Chapter farmers by the Hillsboro FFA Chapter.  He serves as a Board of Director on the Highland County Cattlemen Association.  Fred is also the President of the Highland County Library Board, active with the Mowrystown Presbyterian Church and is also a township trustee.

Lauren Williams is the daughter of Rick and Connie Williams.  She works in the auction trailer as a head cashier.  Lauren is a 2006 graduate of Hillsboro High School, and a 2010 graduate of Wilmington College with a degree in business and accounting.  While in high school she was active in FFA and sports.  She served two years as the Chapter Reporter receiving gold and silver pins at the state level for her work.  Lauren has received her Chapter, State, American Farmer degrees, plus being recognized as Honorary Chapter Farmer from the Hillsboro FFA. 4-H was also an important part of Lauren’s life for many years.  She exhibited swine and sewing projects at the county and state fairs; served on the Highland County Junior Fair Board, and Family Consumer Sciences Board.  She continues to volunteer at the Highland County Fair serving as the adult treasurer for the Highland County Junior Fair Board.   She currently works as an auditor for the State of Ohio.

Blair Lamb works in the auction trailer as a cashier. She is a 2010 graduate of East Clinton High School. Blair works at NCB bank as a Mortgage Loan Processor. She resides in Sabina with husband, Levi, stepson Kolton, and daughter, Kegan, who she enjoys showing pigs and horses with at the local and national levels.

Brittany Williams is the wife of Brad, mom to Brailee and Brynna and she works in the auction trailer as a cashier.  Brittany graduated from Hillsboro High School in 2004.  She is also employed at a local chiropractor’s office.  Brittany helps Brad on the farm, especially with the pumpkin and produce sales.

Connie Williams is the wife of Rick, mother of Brad and Lauren, mother-in-law of Brittany and G to Brailee and Brynna.  She tries to keep everything and everyone in order with the business.  Connie is the daughter of Bill and Frances Baldwin, both who have been big supporters of the business.  Connie graduated from Fairfield High School, Wilmington College, and Wright State University.  Teaching was her full-time job, retiring after 35 years of teaching students in grades K-5.
